Bifida Ferment Lysate

What is it?

A fermented, probiotic-derived ingredient made from Bifidobacterium fermentation, studied in skincare for microbiome-supportive and skin-brightening properties.

What does it do?

According to PubMed, a study of Bifidobacterium longum fermentation-lysate extracts (isolated from a Chinese centenarian) found the lysates efficiently reduced melanin production in both cell-culture and zebrafish-embryo models, downregulated melanogenesis-related gene expression, and showed antioxidant activity against oxidative stress -- real preclinical evidence supporting the ingredient class's brightening/antioxidant potential, not yet confirmed in human clinical trials.
