What is it?
An FDA-recognized skin protectant made from finely ground oat kernels, distinct from the existing "Oat Bran Extract" catalogue entry, widely used for soothing sensitive and eczema-prone skin.
What does it do?
According to PubMed, an open-label clinical study of a 1% colloidal-oatmeal cream and baby-wash regimen in children with mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis found significant improvements in eczema severity scores, quality of life and pruritus as early as day 1, sustained through 28 days of twice-daily use, with skin barrier measures significantly improved at most study visits.
How to use
Typically formulated at 1% (studied concentration in the pediatric clinical trial).
