A polyhydroxy acid (PHA) exfoliant known for a gentler profile than classic AHAs, also functioning as a humectant and antioxidant.
What does it do?
Polyhydroxy acid exfoliant -- two real split-face clinical studies found 10% and 30% gluconolactone chemical peels significantly improved skin hydration while lowering pH, sebum and transepidermal water loss (TEWL), with no significant difference between the two concentrations, supporting its use as a gentler exfoliant that also strengthens barrier measures.
How to use
Typically formulated at 10-30% (studied range in split-face clinical trials).
