Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1
What is it?
A signal peptide used in anti-aging formulations to support the skin's own collagen production, part of the widely studied "Matrixyl" peptide family.
What does it do?
According to PubMed, a 2026 study found collagen metabolism in skin fibroblasts follows a circadian rhythm, and that applying palmitoyl tripeptide-1 specifically at night (timed to when collagen synthesis genes peak) produced measurable clinical improvements in a 30-person trial: skin luminance improved 16.29%, nasolabial fold depth decreased 36.35%, and firmness improved 24.35% -- real, recent clinical-trial evidence, though for a specific day/night-timed regimen alongside a second active (baicalin) rather than palmitoyl tripeptide-1 used alone.
