Rosemary Oil (Essential Oil)

INCI: Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Oil

What is it?

The essential (volatile) oil of Rosmarinus officinalis leaves -- distinct from the solvent-extracted "Rosemary Extract" -- used topically for antioxidant and circulation-supporting properties.

What does it do?

According to PubMed, an open-label pilot study of 12 patients with systemic sclerosis-related Raynaud's phenomenon found topical 10% rosemary essential oil increased self-reported hand warmth more than an olive-oil control, though it did not significantly outperform the control on objective skin-temperature measurement -- an honestly-reported partial finding, not a strong efficacy claim.
