Panthenol
What is it?
Panthenol (provitamin B5, dexpanthenol) is converted in the skin to pantothenic acid; it is widely used in moisturizers and post-procedure skincare for its skin-conditioning and wound-healing-supportive properties.
What does it do?
Commonly used to support skin barrier hydration, reduce irritation and promote wound healing after procedures such as laser treatment or microneedling. Reviewed clinical and in-vitro evidence describes barrier-strengthening and re-epithelialization benefits, including in atopic dermatitis and postprocedure wound care.
