South Africa
There's no single "South African skin type" — skin tone, skin type and climate are three different things, and SA has enormous diversity across all three. For melanin-rich skin specifically, a genuinely common concern: niacinamide and gentle acids like mandelic acid for hyperpigmentation, vitamin C for brightening, and daily SPF to help stop dark spots forming in the first place. Harsh, stripping ingredients are more likely to trigger post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation on deeper skin tones through irritation, so a gentler approach usually pays off.
